In order to apply for family housing at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, prospective residents must submit an application.  Applications can be made to Balfour Beatty Communities on-line via this website. If you do not have an AKO, please contact our office 301-649-9700.

In addition, the following need to be faxed to us at 301-649-7725:

• Orders assigning you to Walter Reed or within a 30 mile radius
• Current end of month LES
• Service Member’s Military ID (back & front)
• DEERS or Page Two showing authorized dependents

If WRAMC is your first permanent duty station, please include a copy of your orders from Basic Training, and AIT so that you may be given the correct eligibility date. 

A Resident Specialist from Balfour Beatty Communities will contact the prospective resident to verify receipt of application and answer any questions.

Applicant will be placed on the waiting list and informed of their position and approximate wait time.  A welcome packet of family housing information will be sent.

Once you arrive to Walter Reed Army Medical Center and check in with your command, please proceed to the Community Management Office located at 1200 McMahon Road
Wheaton, MD 20902.  A Resident Specialist will meet with you and assist you further.

The following information is provided for your convenience:

• Once you have arranged phone service, please provide our office with the number.
  
  
• Renter’s Insurance: additional renter’s insurance is recommended.
  
  
• Gas, Electric, Water and Trash Pickup: are all included in your BAH.
  
  
• Move in Day: Move-in orientations are usually scheduled in advance during normal business hours. Please call our office at 301-649-9700 to reserve a move-in time that would be most convenient for you. Please allow 45-60 minutes to review and sign all the necessary paperwork.
  
  
• Please remember that we will prorate the rent for the month you move in and that all monies for that month are due at move in and must be paid by CERTIFIED FUND or CREDIT CARD. (i.e. cashiers check, money order or bank draft) The allotment option can only be started on the 1st of the month and will be withdrawn twice from your LES on the 15th and 1st of every month as allotments are paid in arrears.
  
  
• Lease Agreement: Lease is for 12 months. Please do not hesitate to ask the Resident Specialist, assisting with your orientation, about anything you do not fully understand.
  
  
• Box Disposal: After unpacking your boxes, please remember to flatten them and dispose of them with your recyclables.  DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE COMPACTOR!
